A reminder of those occasions when you’re all set to begin a solid day’s writing – only to discover, to your chagrin, that your brain has left the building!
Trite brain mouthing
shopworn phrases;
dull mind fingering
like rare and precious pearls
a string of dime-store paste
that never met an oyster;
pencil spewing
gaudy words all decked out
in décolletage, tight skirt,
and bright come-hither
glances, lolling about in
suggestive poses to seduce
the unsuspecting mind.
While Truth and Beauty
manifest – elsewhere! –
in magnificent grandeur,
my Muse
is out to lunch.
Namaste,
Susannah
All you can do is invite the Muse and then you have to just be receptive to whenever she shows up. 🙂

Well, there’s a thought. Normally, I just eat the chocolate myself…. 🙂
